2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975
by baldeagle inmany of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".
this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.
we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

We are having another "Rutherford vs Germany's government" case. Governing Body trying to save their most important --their only-- assets...no not the brothers and sisters
The right thing to do is for the Russian government is to seize all the WT assets, auctioned them, and distribute all the revenues among all the publishers. They are the real owners of those properties. But we are dealing with tyrants versus tyrants. Justice won't happen here

No, I wouldn't. Just treat them the way they deserve to be treated. Make them pay taxes for income and property. I would also force them to pay salaries and benefits to the "volunteers". They offer nothing to society. They should be taxed as a business.

first of all, i want to thank everyone for being so welcoming and helpful on this forum.... i was thinking about my last 3 years as a jw when i was attending the portuguese congregation and learning that language to bring in more converts.
interestingly, we were told not to attend meetings in our native language in order to immerse ourselves in the new language.

Hey, that gives me hope that my nephew will quit the cult soon. He has to travel six hours to go to his Portuguese conventions (L.A. to San Francisco). That's a crazy waste of time, money and energy. A life wasted

Not Great contraction. In JW lingo the word "Great" is used next to tribulation. Sorry I misapply the JW lingo. You have to excuse me. I attended many meetings and conventions with my wife over the years, but they went over my head because I would sleep through the whole thing.

It's one of the many ways Republicans in the U.S. mock Al Gore. I don't even know if there's any basis for it, but many people find it amusing. Al Gore was never my guy, so I don't mind making repeating the joke.
Al Gore actually said in an interview: "I took the initiative in creating the internet".

No. There's still four other congregations (2 Spanish, one English and one Filipino...I believe) in that hall. My relatives say that the vacant slot (Monday evening and Saturday at 3:00) will be used for weddings, funerals or just administrative purposes. The Spanish congregations maybe shrinking, but still strong. I just don't see any halls being sold, not yet. Give it five more years and we will start seeing sales in this heavily immigrant part of the world.

Don't know about poor attendance. I haven't been to a kingdom hall in 5 years. All I can tell you is that there will be one congregation less in this part of the world. The most logical conclusion is that there is a contraction in the works You could also choose to reject the idea and posit instead that the leaders are trying to run the cult more efficiently.... maybe. But this move doesn't look good if you are trying to make the argument that God is supporting the preaching work.
